Over the years, I have slowly crafted less and less skins, artwork and etc. for anything much less Winamp.  I am at long last out of interest, with regards to creating any Winamp skins.  While I still have idea's; I have become very unhappy with the lack of movement and lack of features for my growing and widening flavor of music.  I no longer purchase audio and see no reason to have a software product that while has been awesome no longer provides any connection to services that offer me my music the way I want it.

So, I am for the moment; done building and designing Winamp skins.  I still maintain and manage 1001skins.com; though, it is a set it and forget it for me.  Thank you for downloading my skins (pitiful though they are).

We are now LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

1001Skins.com -  Will soon be alive again.  It has been on hiatus as a result of Max Bloch not able to devote the attention it deserves.  However, I have been working with Max for years and will now take over primary ownership of 1001skins.  In addition to this there will still be a partnership with Max; going forward with 1001skins.  

We believe it to be the best thing for this great community of artists, designers and creators.  Though, I must admin I have much more grandiose plans for the site.  

~ Keep the bat channel clear folks...

So, here I am as usual late and working on the WMC Template.

There has been some confusion surrounding what this project of mine is.  Well, honestly it is a Modern Skin and a Classic Skin.  Well, it uses XML and a predefined set of actions that make it a modern version of the classic skin.  However, because it is defined by the boundaries of the graphics initially it can also be considered a classic skin.  Though, purists will tell you it is a modern skin.

Why not just use cpro?  Well cpro is a fantastic plugin and does alot more to cover ground between Classic and Modern skinning.  My attempt here was to create what I would consider the other gap.  While cpro provides a great SUI (Single User Interface); I wanted to have the windowed type of skins and use the better graphics support of PNG/Alpha masks and etc.  without have to have a plugin.  

I started by creating a modern skin and it sucked.  So, I started again by creating a template that allowed me to use the base graphics from a standard winamp skin.  ~ This was the original idea.  Still available (WCL - winamp classic loader) and (WMC - winamp modern classic) each template has it's strengths.  For my first released skin it will use the WMC Template.  Though, it has now taking me a very long time to create this.  I am in no rush and getting little help in the creation progress.  

PJN (of cpro) and Peacemaker(designer) are helping and assisting as I have needs of them and where they believe they can fit in their uniquely gifted talents.   If you want to help out please visit the github repo and do a pull request.  Or optionally ask me for a copy of the latest non-committed source.
